sowed sweet peas in pots, and erigeron and phlox in seed trays ( well, boxes that we got fruit in with holes in, inside other plastic boxes we got food in without holes!) they're all on top landing under velux window til I can make space in mini gh, the sweet peas I sowed in autumn, sweet williams and stocks that have been in there all autumn/winter, could they go out yet? not in beds, just out of the gh?
If the greenhouse is unheated then the sweet peas should be pretty much hardened off already. Might be an idea to leave them outside during the day for a week, then you can probably plant them once the ground in soft enough if it's currently frozen.
I wasn't supposed to be gardening today - was supposed to be doing some house stuff while I'm off...not sure if I have undone all the good work with rashness
Did some work on an area where I have combined a border with the bog garden. Had to move some things around as removing the path has meant I ended up with small plants in the middle. Weeded it a bit also and chopped some stuff down to get a better look. Might have to leave it now and get a better perspective later in the year.
Accidentally dug up 3 other plants I'd forgotten about and hacked a bit off an allium That's the trouble with meddling.
Planted a few things that have been sat around in pots also. Back filled cavities with compost and moved a little grass getting pushed out the soil by daffs.
Planted up 3 newly arrived Salvia Nemerose Amethyst. Moved plants from frost free greenhouse to harden off in cold frame. Hopefully will have time to sow first batch of seeds soon.
thanks Jimmy, gh is not only unheated it's one of those tiny plastic things and the zip broke after 5 minutes so think you're right, I'll stick all plants outside and see if I remember to bring in at night!! gorgeous and sunny in Sheffield today but did have a flurry of snow, didn't like that!
