Had a brilliant day in the garden today, OH is very poorly so spent all day in bed. Feel very sorry for him, BUT..... meant I could spend the entire day outside without having to cook dinner etc Managed to sort out the tangled mess of the mangetout and hopefully they will now train up trelllis (next year I will know they grow six feet and not four!!). Also dug over ready for veggie seeds to go in, and broccoli, cauliflower and onion seedlings to be planted. Took photos of some of the plants ready to post on Plant ID forum, as I have absolutely no idea what I planted a couple of years ago , and a photo of what I presume to be a weed as it is sprouting everywhere, but thought I'd better check first! (I have a habit of pulling up plants assuming they are weeds only to find out later they weren't).
I am now sitting typing this, relaxing with a very nice G&T (Bombay Sapphire if anyone is interested lol), which I feel I thoroughly deserve .
I wish there were like buttons on here so I could like all the posts!
Hope your OH gets better soon Mynx.
Spent the day on an orgy of bindweed killing, I've given up organic they got good old fashioned weed killer, let's hope that does the trick. I hate the stuff :-(
Hubby put up all the tension wires along the new fence so I can espalier (badly) all the shrubs and the clematis and climbing roses can climb.
That's if I haven't destroyed the entire garden with weedkiller!
Gardened in fits and starts today and got a fair bit done.
Thinned out and deadheaded the shade border to give a bit of light to things coming through, planted a few things from an earlier delivery and planned where to put a couple of things due in.
Decided to mound up all the rock, stone and slab debris I have dug up recently under the arbour seat. (Also finally chucked the glass shard pile). Maybe some bugs can make use of it. Trailed an ivy and clem frond over it because it is a pile of rubble after all.
Watered the street ducks again, they've started to eat my left over hen food instead of mithering about for bread, good stuff, got half a sack still
Used up w/butt #2 today all in a good cause though, my fab new and moved plants??
I have a pair of coal tits nesting in a wall and they have been using a buddlja as a platform to hop in and out but I needed to move the plant to pot it on so I had to put up a substitute stick for them to use. I've had great fun watching them. They were even kind enough to set up stall right outside my window.
Bottom line...nothing done except bird watching and a bit of watering.
Have planted 30 runner bean plants. Bit of a fiddle as they are in crosses cut in the weed suppressant fabric, but the ground was well prepared with manure before the fabric went down. Took longer than I thought.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Not much today - planted a geum and verbascum, and trimmed (badly) the lawn edges. Checked on my sad rose... Still sad.
BUT - we did go and get the wood for the pergola, and tomorrow is the Big Build....

Hello , sorted out g/h yesterday and have been planting loads in allotment and garden , still more todo but getting there
Hawthorn hedges need doing , hopefully some time this week
Hope you are all keeping well
GWRS, the hedges may well have birds nests in them, so not a good time to cut them.
When you don't even know who's in the team
S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
Did a few bits and pieces but nothing major.

I've been planting runner beans in pots, then cover them with fleece.
