  • Beautiful spring (almost summer) day today ........ sat and watched the lambs annoying the choughs image This was while pulling up the Spanish things on the other side of the path. Halfway there now ........ found a fabulous ants nest so sat and watched that for a few minutes. Checked up on all of the cuttings/plants outside and finally got the top of the liquid seaweed fertiliser image It was that kind of an afternoon today image

Received my clematis seeds, ran out of seed compost and trays so quick visit to my local GC (wolvercroft in fordingbridge)

Seeds all done and labeled, watered in and the waiting begins.

    So that's,

    Clematis viorna,

    C. Recta purpurea

    C. Blue eclipse.

Hopefully they don't need stratification, coz my track record of breaking dormancy is poor.

Spent the entire day digging and planting and got one side of the garden finished, so quite pleased.

Will tackle the other side at the weekend. How people manage enormous gardens is beyond me, my small garden makes me feel exhausted image

Ants already hollie hock? I saw lots of bees in the euphorbia today.

Planted out camellia vernalis Yuletide after posting a couple of days ago that I was debating whether to get it or not and seeing it in the garden centre yesterday.  Must have been fate image

Also planted out viburnum burkwoodii Anne Russell, planted cordyline red star in a pot, pricked out cosmos and gazania seedlings and sowed more cosmos and some verbena bonariensis.

Now it's raining so having a coffee (no cream cakes here image).
