Hi guys I've moved my new camelia as the wind blew it over twice (it's still in its pot) stood admiring it for ages beautiful creamy colour can't remember the name oops sorry going off track shifted loads of debris and binned renegade pots and polystyrene bits scattered through the beds gazed at the dried out tops of last year's plants I'm afraid to cut them back as they might well protect the bottoms from frosty morning's made a few decisions on what to do next but not enough time now as its the kettles on and must get the dinner on too
I don't like the winter much but if it snowed my garden would look really good as the tops of my shrubs are quite tidy
I think ill read my gardeners world and prepare for March
Just managed to walk round garden and check on greenhouse and cold frame before the cold made me dash inside. Brrrrr. Of to look at Black Prince and Rebecca now
I started by sweeping the soil away from the pots where some creature has been digging the bulbs up!
Then hacked the buddleia down to about 5' - earliest I've ever remembered to do it but so so much easier! note in diary for next year!
That about did me in so back on the sofa with coffee and Green and Blacks.
Decided I'm going to Tatton Park on the Saturday of the flower show in July with mum, and 2 sisters. OH bought me RHS membership for xmas so may as well make the most of it, although I'm buying all 4 tickets for their birthdays!
Went over to do some work in the farm garden this morning. Cut back old raspberry canes, put away bean canes used last year, cut back Bill Mackenzie a little and cleared up dead annuals (Vegetables and flowers).
Afternoon OH cut grass then I spent the rest of the day seed sowing in the conservatory.
Lovely afternoon-also did some cutting back,. weeding and mulching. Sowed some lettuce last weekend,. and it is starting to sprout, yay! I agree Chicky, a bit of tidying makes everything look better. My Elephant Garlic and Shallots are romping away-will have to keep them covered up, just in case.
Yvie - I'd say Rebecca's a little brighter than Niobe - if that's any help
The reds fade quite a bit in the sun so it can look different depending on where you have it. My Niobe is facing east mainly and is sheltered from most of the mid day sun. It keeps it's colour really well. Rebecca is a bigger flower than Niobe too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

What sort of red would you describe Rebecca as. Checked on internet and it comes up with everything from bright red to dark burgundy.
