Sorry, PP... The state of the Irish Sea crossing might dissuade some people though...
Plenty of midges, Fairy. Even at the top of Diamond Hill, 1500 feet up... and they are more resistant to the Avon jollop than our local variety of midge. Had to use DEET as well!
It reminded me of Scotland, but softer. Very beautiful - and the local people were very welcoming, which came as a pleasant surprise considering the history between our two countries.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I remember some particularly unpleasant ones at the top of Ben Lawers once. Height is no deterrent - it's just inder 4,000 feet.
I'm fortunate that they don't bother me too much, although they were bad in Glen Nevis a couple of weeks ago - my ex hubby was saying recently that Smidge is quite good.
It looks a nice hill you were on - I had a little look at it online. You could do that one I was on on Sunday - easiest hill I've ever done, paths all the way and lovely views too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
A beautiful calm, warm evening here and a quick photo as a Dutch vessel arrived into St. Peter Port harbour, then over to the west side of the island for some sunset pictures over one of the Napoleonic fortresses..

'The midge' gets everywhere Liri, doesn't it?

Thanks for the suggestion, Fairy. We might give it a go next time we're up...
