It was beautiful day GD. About or 8 years ago I think. I have a lot of nice photos from that walk.
Joyce - you aren't biased by any chance are you ?
I had a chance to get a good photo of those two coming back down the road from the Easains recently but didn't stop. Bit annoyed that I didn't, but I'll hopefully get another chance. There's worse places to live than Ballachulish
It's a stunning area doc. Hard to pic a favourite hill round there - so spoiled for choice. I've still to do the Aonach Eagach ridge. My ex was never keen but I've spoken to a few people recently who are making me feel more confident about it. Maybe next year
Here's another of the same hills
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I thought that the Aonach Eagach, was ok. in the summer, totally different in winter. Luckily I did it with people who were proper winter climbers, who looked after me.
It is nice to do the route so that you finish down the steep scree slope, that ends outside the Clachaig, for your refreshment of choice.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Ooh - I missed your reply doc. It won't be a winter trip for me - that's for sure! Think if I get down safely, I'll be needing a good strong cup of tea
Today's little hill in Lochearnhead- Meall na Fearna, (2,654 feet) which sits next to Ben Vorlich, one of the two great Munros there.
View back to Loch Earn with some of the Lawers hills at Loch Tay behind
The reason sheep have foot rot...the peat hags are pretty spectacular-especially when you have to find a way through them!
Ben Vorlich's eastern flanks, with Stuc a Chroin just peeking out behind. I pressed something by accident and altered the colour...hopeless mare...
The little summit cairn with the two Munros beyond
Moss clad boulder - would make a nice garden feature
Loved this rock - like a giant piece of Thornton's toffee - but orange
Heather starting to colour up across the lower slopes
Bracken turning now and the rowans all berried up
No smileys working all of a sudden - I'll let you all attach the most appropriate ones ...winky face

Amazing views Fairygirl, and it looks like you had some beautiful weather too. Yes, that toffee rock does look so out of place there - perhaps it was left there for the giants or someone with a huge gob.

Have I swayed you in favour of Scotland as a future home Verd?
Unfortunately the sky isn't always like that, but it sure as hell makes up for all the dreich days when it looks like that
...it's a cracking hillwalk too

Oh Fairy, that is so beautiful. Love it!
That view is breathtaking Fairy - it looks like the perfect day to be up there - lovely picture.
Brother and SIL used to live in Ballachulish.
Argyll, as you know, is beautiful.
I loved that walk Fairy.
Stayed at the Clachaig Inn the night before, then as the weather was so good, stayed a few more days, and did some more of the Glencoe hills.
Chris Bonnington was giving a talk there, at the time I was staying, so got to hear him as well.
So many memories of the Munroes up there.
