Lovely selection, Fairy! I wonder how long it'll be before Craggy Mc Cragface loses his patches of snow... the only time I climbed Ben Nevis (I was 9, so it's a fair time ago!) there was a lot of snow near the summit, in August.
Those water-scoured rocks are fab.
My "O"level geography text book had a photo of water-worn rocks with the caption "Eddy grooving in a river bed". It was the 1960s so we all thought it was hilarious...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Yes - Nevis has snow on it all year round. Apparently, last year there were more hills carrying snow right through the year than normal - about 70 odd. The winter just kept going. It was still snowing regularly in May even on the more southerly hills. The warmer spell this year has shifted a lot but it's so dry that all the peat bogs are lovely and easy to cross!
We were easily pleased in the sixties weren't we?
If ever anyone doubted the quality of our water - I filled my bottle from one of the pools on the way
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I had a nice paddle in one of the pools on the way down lily - my little fairy feet were sore and weary
Couldn't move for frogs and froglets on the ascent. I had to apologise to that big one ( Froggy McFrog Face) for nearly squashing him flat. He was very understanding
Masses of damsel flies and big dragonflies, but they wouldn't stay still long enough to catch a pic.
Several million midges descended on me back at the car. Had to be quick getting changed!

Thank you all for identifying the Lychnis which we saw growing in one of the gardens we visited today. What lovely pictures Fairygirl - you are so lucky to have all that wildlife and scenery around you.
Painted Lady GD. Used to get them regularly in a previous garden round the corner, but haven't seen any in this one. Hopefully they'll appear some time.
You'll get so much fun with that new camera
I AM lucky GD - although that's a 2.5 hour trip to those hills! It's the silence which is the best bit, and it's deafening

Spectacular scenery Fairy. I particularly l particularly like the huge stone shelf at the pool which looks a great place to sit. There I go again, sitting, not walking.
Lovely pic of the Painted Lady GD, I've only seen a couple of orange tips so far and the rest of the butterflies are cabbage whites.
GD Sony Cybershots are fantastic bridge cameras. I had a couple over a few years and moved to DSLR recently and have found that I often wish I had my Cybershot with me at the same time as it produced brilliant photos, particularly the zoom, without all the fiddling I have to do on this DSLR. Have great fun with your camera. I found the video on the Cybershots was excellent quality as well.

Scoured rocks and water
Craggy McCrag Face - the north side of the summit with the Glencoe hills in the background
The low'ring clouds coming in
Technically a waterfall !
