I did post those cows before but on another thread I thought. The ruin is indeed ours and has to stay in case we, or someone else want to develop it in the future. If we knock it down it will no longer be possible as we are a "zone agricole". We've told Possum it can be a project for her and we'll just make sure the window spaces are covered to stop water getting in when the rain comes. Course, if we win the lottery...............
Today I went garden centre hunting and stopped on the way to take a photo of the coast at les Sables d'Olonne. If the weather doesn't change they're going to have to push the boats out of the harbour entrance which is at the end of the far point and it will be a very slow start.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Thanks Joyce; We love it and have gone off bricks completely. There are two barns too with those lovely stones.
The one on the right has a flat floor and an old table tennis table that just needs a clean. Possum has bagged it for entertaining her friends when they all come to visit. There's also an oak marquetry dining table with 6 chairs that all just needs a clean and feed and some cushions for al fresco dining. The one on the left is more lumpy and has loads of kindling to cut up and 3 old wooden bench tables.

Yes, I agree it is a pity, he was very helpful, but then so were many others when we were thinking of buying a more sophisticated camera at a reasonable price. We eventually bought a Sony DSC-HX400V
and are very pleased with it.It depends what your budget is Verdun, but we managed to get all this for under £400
I used to use a Minolta X700 camera with assorted lenses, filters, motor drive but it was a lot to cart around on hols so when we went to Oz in 2000 we bought a smaller one with the new fangled film that could do landscape, portrait etc. OH bought himself some new-fangled digital thing.
Since then it has become increasingly hard to find film, get it developed and so on so we now share a Lumix DMC-FZ9. It fits in most of my handbags so is easy to carry and is also easy to use. It doesn't have fancy macro features to take the kinds of pics Papi-Jo and one or two other posters manage of insects and flowers in minute detail so if that's what you want you'd better ask them.

Love your cow 'friends' obelixx. You posted them before and I forgot to comment. As GD says, hope you will show us lots of before and after pix of the new project. We had some 'holidaying coos' across the road from my old house. They rented the field from the neighbour for the young 'uns
The 'Hielan' coos' are always great to see when you're on a walk though. Thes were the youngsters in Glen Fyne last year

I love that cow's fringe. She looks huge, I wonder if she's expecting again?
Does the old house belong to you too Obelixx? Will it be a project?
The calves would have been fairly newly born BL. That pic was taken in early June.
She clearly didn't have her 'post baby bikini body' ready.....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Obelixx......the countryside and the coast nearby - a perfect location for your new home. Beautiful stonework on the old house.

Verdun - I doubt very much if DK will ever come back but there are other camera aficionados on here with some proper kit so why not ask them?
