What a wonderful sight all those cranes in formation Busy, yes Autumn is here too but we don't get the lovely tree colours. Red Admiral butterflies on the ivy flowers here, we counted 6 at one time and ivy bees too.
Thanks Joyce, I am so pleased that we still have this massive overgrowth of ivy dangling over our field wall. My husband wanted to cut it all back but leaving it has supplied numerous butterflies, bees and birds to feast and nest in it.
Well hello everyone. I've slept in as usual and that means you are all well into sleep time. I'll try to get into a better time pattern soon. 10.35am here. great photos!
Good on you Joyce - ivy is one of those plants you either love or hate and although it reminds me of dreary Victorian times in so many ways - (our old Victorian house was covered with it on the East and southern walls when I was a child), the benefit to nature far outweigh the problems it can cause to walls and foundations in my mind. We no longer have it on the house, but it is doing fine on the garden wall.
Pat E I took a look at your jigsaw site but didn't sign up, there are some really lovely pictures which are very tempting. I couldn'tsee any that you had were specifically yours - what name do you go under?
GD, I think I used Pat E, but would need to check. Look under NSW. There are some you will probably recognise. I had a look under Scotland this evening, and found some lovely phptos to jig saw. They aren't as good as Fairy'ss photo, but put me in the mood for hers. I must have a look at Guensey and see if there are any. You touch Explore, then next window Scotland or NSW, etc.
Pat - I had a look on the site and did a jigsaw of one of my photos. I'm trying to do it properly now so that it's open to others to use. Hopefully I'll do a few of the hill photos. It'll be something to do now and again over winter
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

GD. - I have always left one area of ivy to flower for the bees and butterflies and, regularly, need to explain to others why it hasn't been cut back.

Just checked GR, Pate was used. Also there is a step between Explore and the topic. It's Popular Tags. I'm sure you'll be able to work it out though.
