Hello the rest of you image

OH has removed the kickboard of the units by the oven and is investigating - there's been a faint but strange smell for a couple of days - we've eliminated absolutely everything -  my guess is that it'll disappear and we'll never find out what it was but we've got a friend staying for the weekend so I'm going to buy some Neutradol after I've been to tennis.

I don't suppose anyone will turn up their noses at a regular supply image

Jimmy - hope little one is better soon ((hugs))

Dove , your smell, ( not you personally, obviously ) reminds me of the mouse in the oven. What happened about that? I think I missed the outcome. did insurance replace it in the end?

    Devon.
  • Yes, it reminded me of that too Hosta ... what did happen?

OH thinks our smell may be due to a blockage in the fridge drain thingy - the side of the unit is about to be removed too .......  image

  • Morning all,

Back from the lovely chateau, people very nice too. They are going to phone as and when they might need me and o can say yes or no at each event. Keeps my options open. image

On the way back got a puncture so currently awaiting

OH to help fix it. I know how to do it, just haven't the strength to lift the tyres or turn the nuts.

    Catch up later. image

DD I hope you've been rescued by now - what a nuisanceimage.  The chateau thingy sounds quite good if it's so flexibleimage.

Hosta, sorry I missed that you now have a date for the op. The time will flyimage.  I'm glad you qualified that you didn't mean the smell was coming from Doveimage

Doveimage.  Will he be able to put it all back together?image.  I hope you find the cause as there's nothing worse than not being able to find where a smell's coming fromimage.  I can't remember what happened about the cooker eitherimage.  When the boys were small we set out on holiday and OH just nipped back in to check everything was turned off.  When we returned 2 weeks later the smell in the kitchen was horrific.  He'd only turned the fridge/freezer off.  Took ages to get rid of the mould that was constantly recyclingimage.

LilyP - son is doing OK and hasn't had a flare up for a while.  Thanks for askingimage.  Other son has been sent home from work this morning.  Hope it's not 'flu but he isn't one to make a big fuss.  Strange for a manimageimage.

I want to say hello and thank to each one of you for your kind wishes, but I can't remember all the names image, so to all of you, thanks, and I'm thinking about everyone's various activities. I'm for bed now - suddenly tired ( must have been all the excitement.)

It'll be my late daughter's birthday tomorrow, 25 Feb, she would have been 53., but I'm feeling quite positive about it - not sad or morbid, so I guess I'm moving on at long last. Expecting son and his cats down tomorrow night for a visit. Catch you all tomorrow. image

  • Night night Pat.

Went for a  walk in the sunshine through the woods nearby. There's a lovely walkway through them but still very 'woodland' like. Quite a few people making the most of the dry weather.

Don't remember the mouse in the ovenimage whose oven was it? eeekkkk.

Hope phone call went well Hosta.

Time for a cuppa and a mooch.

DD, job sounds great, hope you're home in the warm by now.

  • Hello everyone image

I'm back from tennis and the supermarket.  Loadsa shopping to put away but I'm going to have a sit down first.

The mouse was in Tootles' cooker http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/talkback/strange-problem/828149.html

Think a cooker man sorted it out.

    Sweet dreams Pat ((hugs)).

DD - I hate getting a puncture - I can change a wheel, but now I've got a car that doesn't have a spare so I have to call the Green Flag Man and get towed to a garage image

Wonder how Hosta's Sleep Survey went.

  • I noticed a strange smell in our TV room a few weeks ago and sure enough there was a dead mouse under the sofa , our cat does like to bring us gifts in. Yuk!

I was rescued but unfortunately the puncture has turned out to be very expensive, need a new tyre and they haven't got one in stock so they have to change the two - there is some urgency as we are

going skiing tomorrow and obviously need to be road worthy!

Just at the cinema now with Charlie, he is adamant this kids film is a must see and I will love - if nothing else I might have an opportunity to snooze for a bit. Hope I don't snore.image
