My front garden is bordering on satisfactory this year for a change (subjective, of course) for some reason I found the square side really difficult to plant up...
Fab photos everyone, Vic my sort of garden too. Flyfifer I'm sooo jealous of your honeysuckle, I just can't seem to grow it, but you've persuaded me to have another go. I have a winter honeysuckle which is doing well but not spring/summer. I'm thinking of giving Graham Thomas a go.
Yviestevie I don't know the name of ours, but all the honeysuckle we have which we have used to separate the different garden rooms came from cuttings we brought here from our old house in 1997. The arches and honeysuckle hedges I cut back to the wood each autumn and it just romps away the next spring.
I've looked at pix from last summer to compare what stage plants are at this year. The weather hasn't really made much of a difference at all. At most, a few days later. We had less rain in spring which has probably made a difference to some of the grasses and the clematis, but that's about all.
Etoile Violette bursting into bloom and beginning to do it's thing. It's covering a huge bit of fence now so should look good in a couple of weeks
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

One of the other members here (Hostafan) hails from the west of Scotland and now lives in Devon. I don't know... becoming 'soft southerners'....
I've no intention of heading south...in fact, I'm thinking of going further north eventually!
