At last. . . .a summer's day here and to be the same tomorrow.

It fairly cheers you up after all the rain and wind we've had.

I've been getting pots looked out for the bulb order coming.

  • Fog here earlier GWRS but lifting now and very warm.  We have a yellow warning for  heavy rain this afternoon and for tomorrow all day so must get out planting my bulbs this morning.  Forecast is for more autumnal like weather from tomorrow.  Green wheeliebin gets emptied tomorrow morning so looking forward to filling it up again and then my containers.  I could cut up prunings in my sleep now.

Misty start to the day but sun should appear.

Grass still wet with dew so my 'grass man' is doing some pruning. . . . I think most of us are at it!!

Neighbour is on holiday so I can use her garden bin as well as my own two bins.

  • Welcome aym280.  I think the perfume attracts more than pollinators to the site and some come back to see what we are up to now.  I have been posting for years and pick a different aspect of gardening each year to concentrate on.  As i am 88 and have poor sight and hearing i find smell. taste and touch are becoming more important to me so my garden is reflecting that.  But I find photography helps with the vision thing too!  I often don't see weeds till i have taken a picture and spot them on my laptop!

  • Misty here too, GWRS.  Forecast said it would have lifted by now...

We have heavy rain forecast for tomorrow, too, Marion.  We don't really need it, though in the south-east they might be glad of some wet, I think.

I like your method for finding weeds using modern technology!  I found some brambles yesterday growing through a Parrotia - but only when they grabbed my sleeve... I think they hide until they're big enough to be a real nuisance.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • 60 huge bulbs of Tazetta daffodils "Geranium" planted in five big pots and primroses and forget-me-nots on top which are just coming into flower.I bought 50 but lots of them were doubles and split into two as I took them out of the net.  They have a wonderful perfume.  Now for some coffee and then the hyacinths which this year are "Blue Jacket".

  • Hyacinths potted up.  In my garden today. probably the last day of summer.  I am still uncovering the long lost terrace.
