Just been for a look round the garden.  It's hard frozen, with a dusting of snow... but I could still smell the sarcococca as I passed it on the steps.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I find the cold weather seems to heighten the scents from the garden too. Liriodendron.  Rubbing my hands through the rosemary and lavender and curry plant as i pass scent my paths and lots of the daffodils were sending pleasant whiffs out today.

£ degrees and raining slightly so I cheered myself up by taking two close-ups in the house!

TY Goldfinch.  Very windy and wet in Bristol this morning so do not think I will be gardening outside.  Time to catch up with correspondence and housework I think.  Next week is a busy one for me with a heart check-up session and two gardening club monthly meetings one evening  after the other.  I must start putting labels in all my plants for the Botanic Garden's Easter plant sale too.  March is such a busy month this year. Just seen how I typed a £ sign instead of 3 some posts back.  I really should be more careful at my age!

Isn't sarcococca wonderful Liriodendron, mine flowered for the first time this year. I cut some and put it in the summer house and after a few hours the whole summerhouse was filled with perfume.

My friend has been moaning that his mixed colours collection of hyacinths seemed to be all blue but patience has been rewarded
