I had to add emptying rainwater from pots this morning to my deadheading. The garden was looking very bedraggled. Dull and drizzly with no sunshine today so it will not be looking its best should it be judging day. But I at last have a reserve of rainwater should we have another mini heatwave. The slugs and snails are all over the paths now too. I removed two from my kale plants which I thought were safe being up on the picnic table! I should have known as the snails often climb up the bungalow walls.
You too GWRS. It has started raining again in Bristol so no gardening outside today but i may tidy a bit in the conservatory where I am harvesting Gardeners delight tomatoes( and eating them like sweets straight off the vine.)
Drizzly here in the Pennines but I have raspberries to pick, whatever the weather. It's been a great year for soft fruit here; I've made 18lb of raspberry jam (and I only have one row of canes) so far...
I'm relieved to find this thread again. For some reason I'm not getting notifications any more.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I am very well GWRS. I hope you are too. Gardening does keep you in tiptop condition. Today has dawned brighter, sunnier and drier than yesterday but breezy. The garden is quite wet and lots of rainwater collected so we must have had quite a bit of rain last night. It should soon dry in this breeze though.
