You too.fruitcake.I had to venture down to shut the gate which was swinging on its hinges and so far all is well in the lane though rubbish is being blown about especially from next door's garden where building work has resulted in a pile of rubbish from the bathroom that has been stripped out. I heard some of it moving through the night. A tornado like they have in America would have sent that old bath flying!
my biggest concern is my chicken run. Saturday's wind affected their run quite badly but it seems to be coming from a slightly different direction today and this morning they seemed quite sheltered from it in comparison. I will keep popping round to check on them and if I think they are unsafe in any way I'll pop them in a box and bring them home. They can go in the greenhouse until it's over.
Definitely pancake day, flumpy. It is eerily quiet now in Bristol now the wind has gone but very wet outside so we had rain still through the night. Dry now though only 3 degrees so i will have to wait a bit till I can get out tidying up. Forecast is good till Friday when rain is expected again. Enjoy your pancakes.
Brilliant sun outside but I did manage to get some pictures, Picked up two armfuls of dead wood and eucalyptus bark but the garden was not as wrecked as I thought it would be - my hard pruning this winter has paid off, Lots of birds enjoying the surfeit of water. Shallow rainwater must warm up quickly in the sunshine even in February. My hyacinths in the garden have started to flower now and even bluebell buds are showing in my woodland walk.

It truly is vile in bristol today. I was woken by thunder at 5.30am. Hope you manage to stay safe Marion and that your garden is free from damage
