Wow how it is raining!  It has not stopped all morning so decided a cooking day is needed.  I chicken carcass is now simmering to make stock for chicken minestrone soup and I shall make a big batch of scones and spice buns to go in the freezer.  When gardening weather arrives again I shall not have to waste time cooking.  Yes flumpy I expect my forsythias out in the garden are bursting their buds too. Such a pity the weather is so dire for your week off.

Always make pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.  Great load of delicious soup made - had some for lunch and had to don raincoat and wellies to go up to the potager for parsley to sprinkle on top as it has been so mild this winter I have not needed to put any into the conservatory to keep growing.  So windy here now as well as still raining.

Oh what a very wet garden to look out on this Sunday morning and warnings of another storm through the night with gales again.  I can see more expeditions up the garden next week to clear up the debris.
