Wow Marion, gorgeous photos and lovely colour's too .
Rain/dry/sun here too but mostly rain, but it's giving my garden a good watering and the hanging baskets too.
whats the shrub call with the white flowers ? It looks like there's snow on it lovely, also your rhododendron looks so healthy, I'm hoping all this rain will help the feed soak into mine (did that sound right) .
That is called Viburnum "Snowball" flumpy. It has been stupendous this year. All this rain should help your rhododendron as it will make the soil more acid which is what they like. If you have to water it in the hot summer the long range forecast says we are about to have try to use rainwater always or if you have to use tapwater, draw off a bucket at night and use it in the morning when the chlorine will have gone. Just thought I put up a picture of my Pieris "Forest Flame" as well which has white flowers followed by red leaves, but I think you meant the Viburnum opulus. It is as dark as night here already and has been raining for hours so there is a duckpond outside my kitchen once more. No doubt the waterbutts are filling up nicely.
Flumpy I just had a look back at my photos and realised you might have meant the hawthorn tree which does look as if it has been snowed on. The May blossom this year is tremendous. You can barely see the leaves for the flowers.
Garden pretty damp this morning after so much rain yesterday but dry now though a little cloudy. Coverage of Chelsea Flower Show starts today on BBC and I have already posted three good articles on it on the Guardian to FB to share with my gardening friends there. Hoping to get lots of work done today.
Grrr, it is raining heavily just when I was immersed in planting up. I took three wellgrown but not yet flowering wallflowers out of their big pot, replaced the compost with fresh and potted up my first Gardeners delight tomato plant, poured compost on my early potatoes in a bag, carried out a big pot planted with dahlias, and suddenly felt a big raindrop on the back of my neck. I had been too busy flitting from one job to another to notice how cold it had gone and the dark rainclouds. Duckpond formed already so the water table is high and no wind so we could be having this rain for some time. Ah well coffee beckons. That will stop me going Grrr.
Rain stopped, Joyce so I ran up through the puddles and planted my three wallflowers in the Butterfly garden. After lunch i will try again till 5.30 when Chelsea is on.for an hour. Our forecast has rain for this evening. I will fill 15x 9cm pots with compost in a tray and bring them into the conservatory to plant some runner beans for a bumper crop i hope in August and September. Now the raised beds are quite wet I want to get the last of my potatoes planted too. so many of the things on my to do list have asterisks at them today that it will be all systems go till i reduce them.

Stopped raining for now so went off with my camera to snap the raindrops. What a difference a day makes especially when it rains through the night.

Good morning Marion, it's damp and grey here. Got to pick our beach towels up today which I ordered online in the sale from debenhams.
Im looking forward to watching the Chelsea show and looking at all the different designs, I wonder who will win this year.
hope the weather stays clear for you Marion, I want to clear some nettles and brambles at the back of our garden before they get out of hand.
