Oh such lovely weather to be in Tenby GWRS. I keep very well TY. Another splendid day ahead. So very mild for the time of year. No mist or fog here this morning in Bristol. End of month now. November is tulip planting time for me.
The sun came out and, as it usually does when I am doing a repetitive job like cutting up bamboo shoots for the bin, my mind turned to poetry. So coming in for a bite to eat I opened one of my books which I keep in the kitchen. I was struck by the dearth of poems written about November so I wrote one. The autumn colour today is delightful in every direction from my garden. The beech tree next door is glinting with gold in the sunshine and , under a fir tree I found a tiny chestnut tree with huge yellow leaves. I will post my poem in a separate post.
Last mild day for now I think. Frost forecast for through the night so I will gather up the rest of my tnder plants and put them in the garage till I get time to find them some more congenial winter abode.
I have just come iin for my coffee break and scentd the kitchen and my study just by being there. The threat of frost prompted me to move my large pots of lavender into a sheltered place so i pruned off the dead flowers while I was hands on So i am now typing in a haze of lavender. Certainly makes you feel good.

November.
November, you must remember,
Can be very drab and dreary.
Short days and long nights engender
Feelings very weary.
Yet November can be useful
To gardeners like me;
Planting tulips by the potful,
Making Welsh cakes for tea.
November gloom is the bad
Which shows us what is good -
Sunlit skies that bring a wad
Of warmth to bleakest mood.
We know not good without the bad.
Else we are barren souls.
Life without death is only a germ.
I would rather be whole.
So thank you , November,
For being yourself.
Having you in the Year as a member
Is great for our mental health.

Sums up November perfectly. Marion
Hello , glourious weather , your verse made me smile

A chilly but sunny morning here Marion.
Overnight rain has resulted in fallen leaves everywhere. . . . yesterday I had cleared them all........
Never ending it seems at the moment Joyce the leaf clearing. Next door's beech tree dumped a ton on their pristine lawn last night.
