Oh I do love my Secret Gardening Club.  Today for £13.56 PP free I bought nine glorious perennials - 3 each of Euphorbia polychroma. Phlox "Red Riding Hood" and Polymonium yezoense "Purple Rain" which is a very pretty Jacob's Ladder.  I can just imagine the scent in late summer from that phlox.  All the plants will not be dispatched till March which is fine as I have a lot of planting to do in the next two months.

A very Happy New Year to you Marion - this sounds as though it is going to be another very interesting thread from you image

Had never heard of the SG club before today - I have a little Christmas money to spend so it's about to have a new member - thanks for the information image

    Fabulous
  • Good morning Marion,

Love your sister's pic, that is a very unique garden sculpture!!

What are your plans for today? l  am hoping to start my 'milk containers' wintersowing today.

I sat and looked over last years diary pics that I keep on my laptop of our 2015 summer garden, can't wait for the return of the blooming season. I am working on adding more winter colour to our garden , but I think that nothing really beats the full sensory experience of the spring and summer seasons ,the combination of the emerging blooms, fragrance and the warmth of the sun along with the the arrival of visiting wildlife........ahhhhh blissful days await us!

Have a good day , the weather looks more promising today.

Good morning, flowers in the rain.  When I got up the chance of getting out in the garden looked good but things have gone downhill and now the garden is soaking wet and puddles are everywhere.  The green wheeliebin gets emptied today and I wanted to finish the buddlea pruning and perhaps start on the vines.  Ah well to paraphrase Rabbie Burns - the best laid schemes o' mice and Marion gang aft agley.  Perhaps we will have a bright spell sometime today.  I will gather up the Xmas cards and dust.

I had great enjoyment before Xmas trawling through my laptop pics of the garden last year for a Xmas social slideshow I was asked to give.  I had as much enjoyment as my audience I think at seeing my lovely plants on the big screen!  And yes it makes you look forward to the spring and summer.
