Marion, it's great to catch up now I'm back from my Chelsea trip (full of inspiration and ideas!). So glad your open day went well.
Not many of the show gardens were notable for their scent, but Chris Beardshaw's contained lovely swathes of Sweet Rocket - delightful perfume. In the Great Pavilion there was, of course, plenty of scent - maybe too much at times!
Your Secret Garden plants look excellent.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I am sure you got lots of inspiration from Chelsea Liriodendron as I did just from watching the TV coverage. We have had rain through the night so the garden is once again very wet. forecast says may be thunderstorms as it is so warm so i will confine myself in the dry intervals to working near the house. The front garden is calling me.
Hullo GWRS. We had a few showers in Bristol today and a heavy downpour this evening so the garden is now well watered. i have started in the front garden, planting out pelargoniums by the dozen.
Dry and warm this morning but yellow warning for heavy rain, hail and thunder in the afternoon so I will drop everything this morning to get some of my jobs done. One of my visitors on Wednesday brought me an African violet which I have put in the bathroom on the windowsill. It looks very healthy and happy there.
It is amazing what you can do in an hour. I did the Chelsea Chop on my phygelius and now I can see the mopheads on my rhododendron from the kitchen door. When it has finished flowering i wi have lot of flowers on the phygelius in front of it.
