.My latest purchases from the Secret Gardening Club arrived during my second hour of my gardening ration and are now having a good drink after their journey.  Nine superb perennials for £18.88!  The 3 Alyssum saxatile Summit are covered in buds ready to open and one flower on one of the 3 Erysimum Bowles Mauve has opened to show me the lovely colour.  The 3 Lobelia cardinalis Queen Victoria are superb big plants .

In   my third hour of my self imposed ration I have planted a pittosporum, black elder and red camellia, given each a bucket of rainwater and mulched them with bark.  I pruned dead wood from my hebes while I was in the Jubilee garden and weeded where the hyacinths are going out of their pots.  Last hour will be spent on the scree which benefits at this time of year from a good weed so i can appreciate my alpines in flower Happy days.I must find time to put out the recycling as the green wheeliebin is stuffed full.

I slept like a log after all that fresh air and exercise yesterday so hope to repeat it today as the weather is once more glorious.  My four flowers are now open on my !Stripey! amaryllis I had for Xmas.  Such a lovely start to april.

    That's a pretty amaryllis Marion.

A wet afternoon here, but this morning I managed to finish emptying my "matured" compost around the garden.  image

Another super day of gardening and the forecast for the weekend is even warmer.  I planted another 100 or so onions - Early Fen which are golden and did some more work on my scree and the patios.  Tulips are flowering everywhere and the wallflowers are opening rapidly.  The blue of the blurbells is beginning to be noticeable in my woodland walk too.  Tomorrow I must plant potatoes and my foot high broad beans need stakes round them.

Garden wet this morning but it is 8 degrees and forecast to be 13 so hoping it will dry up soon and I can get out planting potatoes.  The soil in the raised beds seemed quite warm yesterday as i was planting onion sets.  In the meantime I can reorganise the plants in the conservatory to make room for more seed sowing.

20 or so perennials planted out so in for lunch.  The garden is looking so beautiful in the brilliant sunshine I just had to dodge my shadow and take pics.

My neighbour called enthusing about my pussy willow tree so I went round to get some pics. It is truly beautiful and the honey bees are starting to visit.
