Next door's garden is completely overgrown so I guess the slugs are mostly lurking there...

I think I recognise that beautiful lilac, Marion.  I suspect I have the same one - S. josiflexa 'Bellicent'?  Lovely elegant flowers and a gorgeous scent.

I bought my pink lilac a long long time ago from Woolworths!  It does have a beautiful scent.  I can recommend today's edition of "The Instant Gardener" where they made a lovely wildlife pond in a day.

Yes, watched it with my feet up, Marion!  I thought it was funny that the presenter couldn't swim and was scared of getting in too deep...  I liked those floating "islands" for extra pond plants too.

Up my garden today.  I will be eating broad beans soon.  The conference pears have set a good crop.  My Primula beesiana has two tiers now.

Not quite so warm today with 21 degrees forecast but also we have a yellow met office warning for heavy thunderstorms from l till  9pm   It may miss us though so watering the pots and baskets will be on the cards this morning.

Oh the scents in the garden were wonderful today.  Here are some pictures.

Just lovely Marion - I can almost smell your garden from here.  Hope you have escaped the thunderstorms.  We seem to have missed them so far, although we are far away, but the garden could really do with a long, gentle soak.

I watched the programme where they showed that milk was the best drink for rehydration.  Fascinating,

Yesterday I received three Primula Beesiana from the SGC.  They are really lovely and it was good to see your pictures of them.  Thank you for introducing the company to usimage

Oh you will be so pleased with the SGC,Lesley K as I am.  And the colour of P. beesiana is so much superior to its colour in the picture!  No rain or hail as yet and Bristol often gets off lightly because of the shelter of the Mendip hills.

I have been waiting with baited breath to see what colour this poppy would reveal as it has buds covered in blackhairs whih do not give a clue.  It is a brilliant scarlet as you can see.

Wow!  That's an eye-catching poppy, Marion.

2 hours of rain yesterday evening and the garden is looking much more perky.  Hopefully the water butt will be full too!
