I made my Hogbox out of a redundant bass speaker from an old stereo system. Fixed up 5 of the 6 sides with roofing felt and mounted if on a couple of broken bricks to keep it dry(ish), stuffed a pile of leaf sweepings through the hole in the remaining side. Positioned it close to my strawberry patch - hoping that in return for day/hibernation quarters the hog would gobble plenty of slugs. Seems to have worked out ok.
I know what you're saying, but it is recommended that we feed regularly at this time of year, to ensure that the hedgehogs are at the weight required to hibernate safely.
If they're not carrying enough fat they may die during hibernation

I'm having at least 2 visitors every night. One just after nightfall, one a couple of hours later.
No idea if the 3rd one still around, but aint goin' out there in the middle of the night to top it up again.
Finally got to see him on camera. Quite a large lad with a white spot side. Wife is happy
Camera app still not great, didn't really take a decent video but I'll keep trying.
Such an effort to see him in this garden
So at about 820 every night, same again tomorrow
just looked. 3rd lot of food gone.
