They do seem to change their routines as the temperatures drop - all we can do is provide some shelter/food - if they decide it's to their liking that's good - if not we must assume they've found somewhere even better and that's good too ............ they'll reappear in the spring

Security light came on as cat out in garden then I saw cat see and go towards something. So I opened the kitchen door and lo and behold I finally came face to face the fella and so did the wife.
Quite a size. He moved behind bins when after a minute
So put out cat food at the door, relooked in 5 mins he was clearing it up.

how easily can they get there noses into bowls etc?
think ill just make a foil boil for easy disposal as will be in the food box anyway... if he finds it
We use these little bowls http://www.feedem.co.uk/cat-c82/cat-feeding-accessories-c114/ceramic-bowls-c115/mason-cash-cane-bowl-lettered-kitten-13x3-5cm-p10706 . They're fairly weighty so they don't push them about as much as with a plastic one.
The terracotta plant pot saucers also work well.

help needed!
Looked out just after dark and mini Spikey was tucking into food.
I know they have to be over a certain weight to survive the winter. I'm now in a bit of a panic.
After he'd finished, I had to go back outside and top up for Spikey.
