I've had 3 or 4 visits most nights, but last night , none.

    Hibernation time methinks

    Devon.
  • ya must be, no sign all week.  so only put out food occasionally or leave till spring?

  • I leave some food and water  out in a covered feeding station - I check it most days and top it up as necessary.  The hedgehogs do wake and have a wander in mild spells.  image

  • it is covered so i can do the odd bit here and there and do have some dried worms which will last longer

  • I find that chopped peanuts, sunflower hearts, dried mealworms, a few raisins and some broken up banana chips keep quite a while in the winter - they love the banana chips - lots of energy image

ok yes he is back, although i dont think this is the same hedgehog, other had a white marking and was a bit bigger.

started to put food out and noticed had gone so then i had a look around and heard rustling near the bins.  seems 830-9pm is the time they visit

little fellow was there hiding and looking for more food so i supplied some more, he seemed friendly enough and then i let him be.

question is, is it every night and is it more than 1.  im not up for camping out to find out though

We've been putting food out for our spiky friend for a while now, saw the usual one and two half sized ones last night image how good is that image. Our golden retriever has a nose and a half, he always goes straight too them When we let him out for his last wee before bedtime.image
