Pleased to say after writing my words here on the 10th I now have full refund of my nearly £60 but what do I buy now I still have my reel Hose lock but cant cope with it far too heavy and clumbersome for me,Any suggestions......I notice on Amazon there is a real good looking black one with brass fittings cant remember the makers name something beginning with L .
Best hose I have is a non kink hose from Wilko, cheap as chips very high pressure to it, better than the X hose IMHO, I did have one, but the kitten got to it so she punctured it. Some of my clients have them, some good some bad, I don't think the price justifies or lives up to the advertising.
Is it a lightweight one Dave as I am elderly and cannot manage the Hozelock have an Auto reel one the one with the yellow hose and fits on wall but it is no good for me now.
Anita, yes it's a grey reinforced hose saw them in stock this morning. Jennifer it's actually a bit heavier than an ordinary hose due to the reinforcing, sorry.
Thank you Mr Morgan. I will go and have a look in my local branch. I really need a new hose and am, unfortunately, quite gullible when it comes to buying things which are marketed at people with less than the average dexterity. I surmised from one of your earlier posts that you might possibly be a professional gardener so your opinion is valuable to someone like me.
As with most things, you get what you pay for. The problem I discovered when I bought a really good x-hose was that if your water pressure to your external tap is not good then the hose will not expand. I purchased a 50ft hose hoping it would treble in size to save me the 'watering can trek' to the hanging baskets situated out of reach of my fixed wall hose. The company gave me a full refund however.

Is the cheap hose you have from Wilko one that's on sale now or is it one they don't stock anymore?

As they appear to be covered in some kind of fabric what happens if you accidentally trail it through fox pooh or similar? Yukk
