  • DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN X HOSE...................I spent £19.99 on a 24ft hose. It is rubbish. I am now left with a plastic spray head that I could have got from a pound shop. Very flimsy hose which does not expand to the advertised length, then as you are using it and the pressure drops it begins contracting. Also there is a risk that it could damage plants or knock over pots etc. as it expands and contracts.

  • I bought an xhose last year fine all last season. Got it out a week ago and it went with aloud bang water went everywhere on closer inspection it had come off the gun end like other peoples where the connector is, very disappointed as it is a good idea won'be recommending to my customers as I run my own gardening business what rubbish!!¡

Waste of money! Any thorns will penetrate them, it is ok for a garden that has no thorns thoughimage

I bought one of these hoses, the 75 feet version. This week it sprung a leak and when I put my thumb over it try and regain some pressure, the rubber tube split in several places and now it is unusable.

I contacted xhose customer services and they have blatantly ignored my e-mails. All I really wanted was an apology or explanation but this has not been fortcoming, not even an acknowledgement that my e-mail has been received. This, despite their website that they will try and respond in 24 hours.

Taking mine back tomorrow had 2-3 months - first leaked in one place, thought I must have caught it on corner of house wall image patched it up and was then really really careful for a week but then and definitely no fault of my own it started leaking in another 2 places and I will not use again as water on a meter and wasting too much - shame brilliant idea and when it worked it was really good. Hope I get a full refund - can't find receipt! image

Thank you also , we have a few Hoselock reels but unfortunately with the very cold Russian winters , sometimes -35 , they tend to become very brittle and we have to replace often. Thought we would give the X Hose a go just to see, so thanks for the heads up on this.

  • I purchased one from Ideal World the longest one end of last June and last week it has sprung a leak I rang them  and  requested  a refund  I was told to send it back and they would have it repaired and would take 20 days.............I need a hose pipe and not prepared to wait..............meanwhile I have to parcel it up and send it back via there courier.very upset with this service.have sent 2 emails but told to put in writing and head office will decide..............

I bought a generic version of the 100FT hose through Amazon.

It is a brilliant idea and worked fine for three uses.Last weekend using it to wash the car,the hose parted company from its connector followed by it exploding in the center.

Further exacerbated by the generic version not being compatible with more usual hose equipment.

The supplier has refunded me in full, without argument.

I have gone back to Hozelock.

  • Hello (I don't do "hi").  I've just signed up after going online to find the cheapest price for an x hose - I've wanted one since last year.  I'm so glad I clicked on this site; it seems everyone here agrees that the x hose is rubbish and I won't be wasting my money.  However, I should like to know if anyone has bought the orange expandable hose being sold on the other TV shopping channel. (I don't know if it's permissable to mention it by name but some of the presenters are Quite Vile Creatures.  I'm interested to hear whether their expandable hose is better than the x hose.  It's certainly more expensive.
