A "40 meter autoreel" may retail at £159.99, but spell checkers are free.

It retracts like a spring, Mrs Glaze, if you turn the tap off. I liked it at first, then went off it, especially when it sprang leaks.

Just answering above question but this is an old thread, maybe should be laid to rest.

The thread may be old but the question is certainly a current one.

My first one was  from one of those free mags you get in newspapers. It developed holes along the pipe, more like a sprinkler than hose pipe.

i got another from Amazan with a free bag to store it over winter. 100 ft.

I love mine so far, but it's not expanding. Which is fine for the size of space, but I'm not sure the water pressure is high enough to force the hose out.

If it's not expanding you might has well have stuck with a short, normal hose.  The only benefit I can see of the expanding hose is that it takes up less room when it contracts.

It's very light, a pleasure to use. And takes up very little space. I keep it curled in a pot. I have a 10m, which is pretty much the main length of my garden.

I have a 30m expanding hose and I love it. It takes up little room and is light to use. Highly recommend the Hoselock one.
