Just been reading the reviews on the x hose and they are very similar to the Amazon. They do not last long. X hose may last longer than the cheapest ones but i read that they also split. I'm on my 3rd hose that was supposed to be extra strong. Leaks near to the tap connection but still on the fabric. It has not been perfected yet as a product these expandable hoses
i have had a Xhose since they first came out and had no problems with it making sure I emptied it, never left it outside but always in my utility room and love the fact it did not kink. I had a friend watering my garden during the time I had a long holiday and during that time despite the fact i told her never to leave it outside she did, neighbours' cat thought it a great toy and when she next came to use it one section was full of claw holes! Can't blame that on the manufacturers and new hose section ordered and replaced. I think also that some people do not read the instructions carefully, you do not have the valve on if you have a spray attachment and you must obviously open it as soon a hose full of water, if you don't it will explode!!.
I bought the pampered gardens hose in 2016. It began to leak fairly quickly. They did send a replacement at the end of the summer which I kept in my garage for this summer. I began to use this just a couple of weeks and within one week it had several leaks again. The water was pouring out of it. I would not recommend these hoses and I have read many similar comments on the internet sites. They are expensive and not worth it in my opinion. I have had to buy a traditional hose and still no refund from the company after three weeks of requesting one.
I purchased the 100` x hose thinking ..how wonderful now I would be able to water my own garden and flowers, instead of waiting for my husband to drag the heavy yellow hose out.Wrong ! The x hose was very light but out of the two hoses I purchased both of them burst and of course outside the year's guarantee. I would never purchase another x hose. The 100 foot one I bought cost £49.99. Very expensive way to water the garden for a couple of summers!!! Never again! No customer support from X hose!
I am on my third Xhose, all ordered from Ideal World, the first 2 burst, the inner tube blew on both of them. i originally paid about £90 for the 100'. This third one I have is the 2nd generation Xhose, and I think the only reason this has lasted longer is because I know not to yank it round corners or give it a tug, because this is what bursts it. A very lightweight fragile item that you have to respect, would not buy another one. By the way, Ideal World replaced them all, so thought they must have had other complaints too. Makes me wonder if some outlets buy a job lot of something sub-standard.
And you wouldn't have resurrected an old thread for your first post here just to promote the Y*y* expanding hose would you ... perish the thought (perish ... get it ... perished rubber hoses)

X hose- I have 2 and I have found them great.
I put them away carefully dry and curled for the winter and I am now using the 2 again.
This 2 years of hard use over grass, gravel and crazy paving. Every dry spell and for newly planted flowers from seed.
They are sill pricey though.

Useless for rainwater, they need mains pressure to expand.

I was thinking of getting one but i heard you need good water pressure for them. My water pressure isn't great.
