And you wouldn't have resurrected an old thread for your first post here just to promote the Y*y* expanding hose would you ... perish the thought  (perish ... get it ... perished rubber hoses)  ;)
Very amusing you cynical gardener you! No, My only connection with the Yoyo hose is as a satisfied customer. And as one wanting to stop people wasting as much money and time as me on failed expandable hoses.
Oh, no I just thought! I must confess I do have some connection with the Yoyo hoses; they are made in Italy and I am half Italian! I certainly don't own the company. That is just a pipe dream😃

There is a natural scepticism when somebody's first post is to re-open a topic from a year ago apparently to plug a product.

    My apologies  :(
As has been said, trawling up old posts to advertise is a common strategy and it's been done on this thread quite a few times. Noise reduction fencing is another thread being targeted at the moment.  :/

My first post was going to be about beech hedging but I'm still deciding what to do about that when I spotted the thread about the x hose which struck a chord with me so decided to make my contribution. Due to my rather frosty reception to this forum I think I might go elsewhere. And please all feel free to use whichever garden hose 'floats your boat.
    Bye and all the best.

I have apologised ... and I did try to make my comments light hearted, but that thread has been targeted over and over again by freeloaders  ...  however if you feel this isn't the place for you then I hope you find somewhere that is.

    Thanks
I subscribe to a number of forums on a wide range of topics and it is common practice to share positive and negative experiences of specific products. It does not invoke the 'natural scepticism' referred to by KT53's post.

In fairness, most of the old thread revivals, esp reviews, are spam. Sorry you were caught in the net of over-suspicion.

Ok but it is not something I have come across before in other forums. If someone is advertising or promoting something that is made clear. I am surprised that attempts to deliberately mislead the good members of this  forum occur here with some regularity.
Anyway I think my original post has been deleted so I'll extricate myself from the 'net of over-suspicion as so aptly descibed by Fire and be on my way.
Thanks one and all and happy gardening.

The fact that your original post into this topic disappeared indicates that a number of people suspected it was spam and/or a lead up to advertising and reported it as such.  In this instance I actually wasn't one of those to report it despite similar concerns, but the vast majority of posts which are reopened after over a year are the work of spammers.  Dove has apologised for the assumption made, if you are unable to accept an apology that's your decision.  The world will continue to turn.

I understand what is being said, and am grateful to those who have taken the time to reply, but I am just not comfortable with the whole scenario. I have not rejected the apologies; I just feel that, for me the forum is not where I want to be. I wish you all the very best and hope you continue to enjoy your community here. No hard feelings on my side but my world will indeed continue to turn without this forum and I hope so
    will yours for many years.
