I have plastic planters around the swimming pool, but elsewhere there are different sorts, stone, terracotta, resin etc. The only wooden one I had fell apart after some years, upsetting the clematis that was in it.

Here's another one I have just planted up, not plastic.

I've been on my hands and knees painting Algon on our very green algaed paving - which should be very pale cream.  Fortunately it was dry here in Bath today so I'm hoping it will work.

If I'd realised just how often the paving turns green even in the sunny bits, I might not have opted for sandstone!  I have tried power washing it but found it very hard work and took a lot of the mortar out as well.

On the upside, I picked a wild strawberry this morning and found some snowdrops coming up.  It's weird weather.

Hello , got out this afternoon and gave 1 of the honeysuckles that grow up the side of next doors garage a good pruning , also got the the 3 wheelie bins there and it was getting difficult moving one of them , so really pleased with ones severalimage

  • as I'm about to lose the end of the garden I've been moving the good soil from my veg plot down to the bit we will still have - it's very warming work so I don't think cold weather would worry me, but need to keep at it before the soil freezes.  So far I've shifted the contents of two large compost bins, but now it's the actual veg plot....but it's full of lovely fat worms....also potting up my favourite plants.  I've bought 1000 plant labels off the internet to label them all before they lose their leaves so that I don't confuse all the clematis varieties.  Please don't tell me it's the wrong time to lift clematis - I don't really have any other option.

Planted out most of my alliums yesterday. I dont really like planting bulbs on mass,I get so fed up after hours going at it. Gladitor and mount everest allium from lidl were really good big bulbs, to big for the bulb planter, hopefully they will all come up.

Have I missed something G. Granny? Why are you losing part of your garden ( if it's not an impertinent question) ?

No need to answer if I've crossed some sort of line.
