Yes I have whacked myself gardening in the sunshine but only 3degrees which is very very cold on the hands, but who would blame me when the perennial weeds are coming out so easily!
Patched the two broken window panes on the greenhouse (its being dismantled and moved come spring) with a bit more tape and potted some garlic up to act as replacements should nothing come up in the garlic bed: 20 garlic cloves went in on 8th December and so far there aside from a few weeds there is only one potential showing up.
I'm trying very hard to be good and not going in my lady cave (like a man shed but posher) because I'm seeing on Twitter people planting their tomatoes and chillies. I can only assume they've heated greenhouses because my partner will not be happy if I fill the windowsills with plants this year.
Yep, just been out and spent a happy twenty minutes removing the bits of our neighbour's tree from over our fence to clear the airspace of what will become our new shed/greenhouse in a couple of weeks!
0C and snowing so no, no gardening, but i am getting into seed ordering mode and thinking of starting some chillies off as per someone posting on A4A who starts theirs off ona damp cloth in a plastic tray on top of a radiator then transfers the sprouted seed to jiffy pots
hi tootles im new to the forum. i have sown saved choc cosmos and usual cosmos in an electric prop in gh . heres hoping though its so cold here in co down i think im mad but at least im thinking of warmer days.
I think it officially got above freezing here today - but it didn't feel like it & it's still white where the sun didn't penetrate - so no gardening today.
Might try finishing digging up the raspberries tomorrow though - it's amazing how warm you get when you're working - warm all over except my darned right foot..... chilblains on the way again I expect
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Hello rosy, welcome.
I hope you're not too early with the tender plants.
