Watered plants, moved branches over dug area as vats think its a litter tray. Found forget me nots poking through grass, glad they didn't get stormed as cable didn't go that far, adds them to the list of things to move
Managed bog all today compared to many of you here! Jealous. Work def gets in the way of life! Did manage to do a hairy bitter cress removal patrol, oik out a good few sycamore seedlings and attack some willow herb! Noticed a lot of dandelions knocking about esp in the lawn/grassy bits.
Looking forward to digging a new bed out on Saturday. Killed the grass off. Just needs digging over, then I can get a plantin'! Soil good underneath too... many worms! Might also get the ground levelled and prepared for the greenhouse. Will be using sleepers for the base! Might have it up and in use by Christmas! ????
Turned the leaf mould, broke it up and gave it a soak.
Transplanted oriental veg. Filled trays to
Sowed some more peas and beans
Up-potted onions, artichokes.
Sowed apiaceae herbs indoors
Filled up a bunch of planters I got reduced at the end of last season and sowed apiaceae and lamiaceae. I was past a building site last night and fortuitously they had a granite grit spillage.
Neighbours away on their narrow boat (I'm jealous!) so keep popping around to water containers and dead-head daffodils. Cut down the raspberry canes as suggested and already shoots are coming through from the bottom. We have about 6 resident-ish common or smooth newts in the pond but no sign of tadpoles from all the spawn earlier - I think the one black fish the heron missed has eaten them! I would take it out but it is really sneaky and difficult to see!

no sign of tadpoles either. Hiding or eaten. I do hope the former.
Early start for me this morning, good weather so I could get on with:
Wanted to plant up my raised bed in passageway, now that I have decided what to put there but got distracted
Dug some weeds out
Potted up last years penstemon plugs into bigger pots. Used cut down bits as cuttings. If they dont work I've not lost a lot
Repotted a hosta.
soaked a drooping hellebore
fed the ducks when they waddled down the garden to the patio and stared at me.
Put the broad bean seedlings and sweet peas out to harden off
Took some cuttings off of some sedums. But early for chelsea chop but they're growing fast.
Pricked out some verbascum bananas and custard.
Made his dinner early so he can go and play badminton. (sorry thats not gardening)
It is gardening if he plays badminton with a spade
