Today I pollarded my Eucalyptus, filled a raised bed with soil, pruned and tied in a climbing rose, moved a shrub, barked an area and discovered more alliums where I thought they had died out
Thanks Verdun. I have an idea of what I want in relation to the colour scheme, and an idea of the perennials and annuals that I would like. But I need some height to screen off a seating area. At the moment I was thinking perhaps budhelia would do the trick, but you mention grasses which I would never have thought of. I don't know much about them but for movement, height and uniformity I think they may be wonderful. Also its permanent structure that I will struggle with.
I watered my seedlings and put some veg peelings in the compost bin does that count
G B I've been thinking of making a couple of my beds truly cottagey (my new word) and growing some of the pretty veg among the flowers, if you don't want a big veggie bed that might be the answer. Check with Mrs G B first she will be keeping an eye on you
Ooh Pansy they do sound delicious haven't seen the film yet but number 2 daughter gave me a buy one get one free voucher so it's in the pipeline
Positioned some plants, tidied perennials, turned one shrub around and planted out group of 5 Potentilla and 6 Saxifrage, trimmed dead foliage, barked areas, uprooted dead shrub, planted 1 fern and 3 clumps of Crocosmia in shady corner, more barking and pruned back two big shrubs.

Afternoon,
Today I pollarded my Eucalyptus, filled a raised bed with soil, pruned and tied in a climbing rose, moved a shrub, barked an area and discovered more alliums where I thought they had died out
Moved another shrub 18" to the left
Took the last few plants out of my allotment today its looking very bare and neglected now
But on the bright side I do now have them to plant in the new garden but quite where that is the question

I think I will start a thread.
Victoria, they are lavatera's. I bought the seeds at last autumns Harrogate flower show and I'm really pleased with how they're coming on so far!
I've re-potted 3 blueberry bushes into much bigger pots and planted out some more violas.
Very cold here today but I braved it to the local little nursery shop and spotted a BIG Viburnum Summer Snowflake for only £10! Just had to have it
I watered my seedlings and put some veg peelings in the compost bin
does that count
