You won't see me this time of year, there are sycamours and ash trees everywhere and I'm spending every minute when not at work running about with a rake sweeping it all up. It's like counting the grains of sand on the beach :-/
After a long day working, I had a lovely pootle around the garden thinking about what to do tomorrow....inbetween practising making lemon curd, short bread and marmalade. Plenty of dead heading to do. Love weekends, especially bank holidays!
Planted out 120 leeks (a bit late but they will still produce good leeks) and about 50 polyanthus started from seed in the spring. Harvested today's dinner (carrots, runner beans, potatoes & kohl rabbi with apples & raspberries for a crumble afterwards.) Yum!
Also lifted the onions so they can dry - good year - between tennis and cricket ball sized.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
I have planted and netted well grown on and established PSB, Chard & Spinach..bit late with them this year Had fun watching cabbage whites trying to get at them
Done some dead heading and removed some smaller apples from the tree so hopefully we'll get some good sized ones..June drop hasn't happened here
