Good evening , had some slabs layed for garden furniture and the chap relaided some that had moved , unfortunately it left a step by rotay line , so had to relay them , bound to trip up , all went well but worn out now
Watering, deadheading and tidying. Put the gazebo up and got the summer table and chairs out for the first time this year. Better late than never! Then took the canopy off the gazebo in anticipation of the gusty storms we were promised. Turned out to be a few spots and a bit of a rumble!
It's really hard to envision the weather map for you lot. Can't work out which county some of you are in. Why don't you say that in your blurb? One of you has torrential rain and the other has dry thunder! Help!
Hi there Pat E, I'm in the south not far from Southampton, so almost on the coast! Its been very hot and muggy down here but the rain has just begun and we could be in for a few thunder claps, but hopefully it will all past over during the night.
I'm in Nottinghamshire Pat. The East Midlands. Almost slap bang in the middle of the country. It's been the hottest day of the year so far today. All of the high pressure was meant to result in severe electric storms but they must have bypassed us! It's very muggy and I'm not relishing going to bed in this heat.
Thanks all. That makes it a bit clearer. I grew up in a coastal town, GWRS. A little fishing village about 3 hours drive from here. Parents long gone, but sister still lives there. We don't usually visit, it's not convenient for her and it makes me feel uncomfortable because it has all changed radically from when I was a kid.
My memories are of running around bare foot, fishing for whiting before breakfast, climbing up cliffs when the tide trapped us kids in small inlets, fishing off the wharf for small fishwhich we sold to the fishermen for Bait, etc. they used to give us kids a penny for each one. I think back now that we used to run wild, but that was normal then. No scary people to worry about. I remember taking sandwiches with only butter on, and then putting fresh oysters on for lunch when the tide was low enough to get them. It was a good childhood living on the coast.
