Dug Nelly Moser out of the trough between 2 roses and planted her in her own pot as roses stole her food. Quite a job, roots were huge and rose roots had gone into them. Roses very prickly and Nelly was hanging on tight.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Kelsbels, what are the round leaved plants on your sweet pea shelf? I have something similar that appeared in a pot. Now I've seen yours I want to say Nasturtium, but admitedly I've never seen one...
P.s thanks for the seed sympathy Tesni - meant to say thanks in my last post but forgot...
I've got two new germinations from the over-wintered seeds. Unfortunately I used a poor quality labelling pen so I can only say that one of them looks like an umbellifer.
Bright and frosty this morning but going off now. Looks like a good gardening morning at least.
Morning, just going into the garden now before the rain sets in, which apparently is going last until the end of the week. I have had lots of germination from the annuals, cosmos and zinna which is great to see. Yesterday I potted up some dahlias but I can't provide basal heat for them but I'm sure that do what they are supposed to, just later.
The really exciting news for me is that hubby and the children have all agreed to a new bed! Yay! The hose pipe is out and I'm printing off my plan I spend all day yesterday drawing I feel like a kid that has been told they are off to Disneyland, I'm that excited!
Plan today is to get the veg plot rotavated over (again) once it has dried out a bit more in the sun and wind.
Mixed feelings about the rain, been surprisingly dry here for past couple of months, so the pond could do with a fill up and the rain may help break down my clay a bit. Compost could do with a soaking too, so I guess I'll welcome it and play in the potting shed for the rest of the week.
