Deadheaded the buddleia bushes to help them continue flowering as long as possible. Should water pots tonight as still no rain . Good weather for sunbathing, but borders are too dry to plant anything new. My clay soil is like concrete!
Cut the lawns and done a load of deadheading. There's masses of weeding to do but I've resisted today and will attack that tomorrow when my gardener is also here.
Tried to push plant supports around snowflakes, but the yobbo who filled my new garden bed managed to hide building rubble below the surface, so the wire supports are a bit wonky. Will see if hubby has any reo rods in shed. That should help make holes with my pound hammer encouraging it. Weather last two days was perfect clear warm non-windy days about 20 degrees, so hope today is just as good.
Hanging basket at the front looking past its best so will empty that. May nip to the garden centre for some refills. I never normally bother with a second show but feel in the mood this year!
It was a lovely day first thing. Up early and walked the dogs. Just had an hour's whizz round with the strimmer to finish the tidy up after the lawn mowing yesterday.
There were a few spots of rain and so I'm in for a coffee. It's not raining now but it has gone VERY overcast and so I'm hoping it will pass as my gardener is due in at 10am and there's a mass of stuff I was hoping we'd get done.
Put tomatoes into 6 hanging baskets , they should have been cherry toms that hang down but they turned out to be normal ones , looks mighty strange
also did a clematis ball , takes a couple of year to look fab , had one before but really bad winter a few years ago finished it off even though in greenhouse

Northern lass , clemaitis ball , basically it is 2 hanging baskets with cable ties and 4 small clemaitis from Morrisons , in the winter I trim it off and put it in the greenhouse for protection , bring it out in the spring , feed water and hopefully away it goes . Got the idea a few years ago from a gardening talk by a Clemaitis grower , in fact she even recommend Morrisons clematis because you need small ones , hopefully next year will be much better , give it a try

Sounds interesting. How are you doing it?
Northern lass , having breakfast in bed at moment , will take picture and put on site , easier to explain that way
