It's been lovely and sunny here in Bath last 2 days, although very hard frosts overnight. We've been taking down an old rose arch which wasn't up to the job and digging out a space for a new water butt which hopefully is going to fit behind the new Rose Arch and hide it.  Might have to get a longer diverter pipe and perhaps fit a bit of hosepipe to the tap so I can get at it. Waiting for the water butt to arrive - got a good bargain on Amazon with butt, tap, lid, stand & diverter kit for £45. The flower bed is on a steepish slope by the side of the house so not an easy job.

Scratch the stem and see if it is green, bet it is in which case it isn't dead image Others will help you  ID it image

  • I've cut the stem which is brown so I think it's a gonerimage I'm thinking it might be lambs ears!

Hurray, lovely sunny day! Pruned old neglected grape vine, not pruned for 2 years, on south wall of the house. Sap didn't run, so it wasn't too late. Also pruned Diana clematis in the same area, or rather, cut most of it down - group 3.

Started to build a triangle pergola today image. It will help hide an ugly shed , somewhere for me to sit in the garden with a brew and for my Wisteria to climb all over hopefully.

Ravomum,  your shrub looks like a Rhus, aka stags horn sumach

I dreamed about gardening today, from the misery of my desk! Was taking solice in the blue sky outside until someone shut the blind because the sun was glaring on their computer screen. Boo hooooo! Wish it was Friday!
