Thinned salad seedlings in the raised bed and watered the pea seeds that were sown yesterday. I was given a huge box of seeds that were four years expired, so it's sort of 'sow and see if it grows' here.
Hey Oneofseven, me and OH are hooked every year to the IPL
As for gardening, it's only me who has that bug. Yesterday I finished potting up all my summer colour and bought two more Potentilla for rhythm in the middle garden.
Today I finished clipping box, planted a stunning red clematis and discovered a free clematis baby deep at the bottom of a hole I was digging. Must have separated from the Dr.Ruppel that I took out earlier this year, what a beast it was.
no, it's tipping down today as i don't have a greenhouse i can't get on with anything but it is supposed to only last a day so hopefully sun will be back tomorrow
pulled more stinging nettles and goosegrass. Hacked a large pendulous sedge and piled all the other stuff on top in the hope that I won't have to dig it out. It's in a particularly rubbleful (is that a word?) patch.
Molly the Witch is more or less over but some nice tree paeonies to keep me cheerful in my torment
Hi Blue Onion, I also have some old seeds hoarded over a few years - let us know what germinates from yours... Been tied up with assignments last couple of weeks so no gardening done but weather looks good to go tomorrow so will start working to my priorities list. Garden looking beautifully green though, set off by Paeonia delavayi, Syringas, Erysimums, Ajuga with roses and irises in bud.
Managed to stop a few slugs and snails in their tracks, cheeky beggars!
Planted Choisya White Dazzler at pergola step, rescued two Echinacea from dappled shade, improved soil, planted three cushion Phlox, and two more Convolvulus cneorum for rhythm.
Made a start on landscaping very bottom part of my garden, it will be the main work area
