Cannot do anything outside in North Cornwall as the ground is so wet!!!. First thing to do when I can get out there is sort out all the flattened plants & pots from the wind. Not looking forward to that. Never mind Spring will be here soon & it may stop raining for a day....
Held the ladder yesterday as OH went up one of our Portuguese Laurel trees to cut back branches. Then ran up and down the garden like a Ninja Warrior tidying up!! It was lovely to be out in the fresh air!
I have a day off work tomorrow......round two awaits (hope the forecasted winds don't come too early!!)
Haven't been able to do anything in the garden for awhile now. Garden is like a bog. Only thing I can do is water the plants in the potting shed I've over wintered in there. Hopefully the weather will improve soon and I can at least do a bit of weeding!!
Awoke thinking it was the middle of the night so dark then tummy said porridge time so got up with all the lights on. Now it is bright and sunny but venture out into the garden and I would end up several gardens away, the wind is howling bending my trees in two, the clouds are on their way to Newcastle, hard luck for them. Give it another three weeks and we in the NE can start anything before then is a waste of time.
I've sent the Under Gardener up a ladder fixing two new bird boxes, moving bird feeders and emptying the water butt that is going to live in Wonky's garden very soon ... he also gave in to an urge to sweep the terrace
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Ah. As we know it is always wet here bulbs tend to be planted in containers. That way they should survive through the winter & not rot.

Very windy out there and so wet underfoot the lawn is oozing audibly.
No gardening, just bird feeding.
I might venture into polytunnels between showers and scatter a sprinkling of slug pellets. The little blighters have started early this year.
