Bit overcast today but it was dry and no wind (hate, hate, hate gardening when it's windy) so spent a good 2 - 3 hrs in the garden today. Cold when I went out but got a nice glow on by the time I'd finished.
Lopped 2 - 3' off a viburnum tinus and made it a slightly better shape and had a general tidy up of one little border. Moved some perennial plugs from the potting shed to the mini greenhouse to make some bench space for seed sowing in a couple of weeks.
Definitely a few signs of vegetation stirrings out there. Not long to go now folks ...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Managed to get out and plant one of my ALDI bargin fruit trees (3 still in pots) and some freecycle primroses. Sowed more hardy perrental seeds and raided the touchwood seed site -really looking forward to real spring!
It was a glorious day today, so I was out in the garden in just my shirt sleeves. I hadn't planned going out but was listening to the botanical garden show which put me in the mood.
Divided some dormant perennials, partially-cleaned the greenhouse, dressed the berries, collated and tidied the potted strawberry plants, de-etiolated some house plants, removed tomato plants from greenhouse, sowed some more fabaceae into tubes, put down manure, put down cardboard, tidied up the manure pile, bagged old blackberry canes, topped up the leafmould cage, changed the silica gel sachets in the saved seed box, sank some bulbs.
There are some really cute wood mice (Apodemus sylvaticus) nesting in the log piles beside the composters. Glad to have provided them a home for the winter.
Been building pergola today, bought three 4x4 treated posts rung them up about 10days ago asking on price £14-15 per post , turns out they wanted £70 for THREE POSTS I understand if they was cedar or equivalent . Annoyed I couldn't take them back cause I got them cut to fit in the van . Got them down to £60 but still not happy, I always buy my wood there, being loyal to one company in anything means your got get stuffed further down at some point. It will cheer me up when I have finished, especially when the Wisteria gets going.
What goodies have you got Victoria? i cant tell but one looks like a pulmonaria and a clematis

I had a horrible (non-gardening) day in the workhouse but got home to find this delivery of lovely plants:
I think it counts as gardening as I knocked one over on the worktop and had to replace all the mud.
Bit of a dark, rubbish pic - sorry
