Buttercup, no reason not to use a tyre planter, they can be painted or covered with bedding plants whilst using them to grow veg or what ever. They are deep enough, you can even stack them, will drain well and probably far better for herbs than those costly boxes.

Go on one of the other threads with the questions, they will always get answered or chat on Forkers, saying that apart from chocolate, cake, wine, I often have no idea what they are on about.

I too was on the old board and still in touch with some on e-mail, I was Remefrank then, we had some good fun.

    Frank.

    Hi cowslip

You have asked a question,an offending question I feel .

You have been given an outlook of many members life, admitted I did start off telling you why I come on here .but then I thought ,why should I ?

Though I do have the odd question :

But I'm intrigued cowslip, how do you spend your day?,Maybe just  some of us would like to know?

But I'm also wondering if you have thrown this one in to cause a reaction ?  as I've not seen much joining in the conversations by yourself  .

So let's have it cowslip how do you spend your day ?

Don't take my post the wrong way cowslip,it's  just  that your question I think owes us all an explanation of.  .......... why ?

Here I am again! Well, well, what a response. I was just fascinated by what my fellow humans do. Most folk would agree that it is best to have an enquiring mind. Hence never bored.

I think cowslip gave an explanation here image

  • imageHaving just read all the previous responses to Cowslip and being a newbie may I say,",I feel the whole point of this forum is communication with like minds and developing friendships!" Does anyone agree?

  • hooray to that meadowland. I don't think I've got to the point where anyone would notice if I wasn't here, but does it matter? like most others I just love my garden, love the help and ideas I get when needed and hope to offer help gleaned from many years of hit and miss gardening both here and in France.  I sometimes wish that people would attach an area or town to their profile though, as we all know that conditions vary enormously from place to place and what does well in one persons garden struggles to survive in another.

  • That's a good suggestion,GG.....not only for varying gardening climates but also for possible meetings with members.

Oh dear - If we can't compare notes where would we be?? Living abroad I find the Forum a joy to mix with like minded folks. I hate computers, but have to admit to loving using this link to Gardeners everywhere.

I can't quite figure out why some forum members took my original post as a criticism. It was a case of "As a matter of interest...." I do not know how many forums there are, but two which are regularly used, are Digital Spy, and The Lounge. Seemingly covering every subject under the sun. I find it so nice to be able to chat about cookery, agas, dogs, music, politics, music, wildlife. Thirst for knowledge. Oh dear, that darn enquiring mind again!!
