Thank you Marion image I know what you mean. After seeing your friends tiny garden and the wealth of blooms he has I'm inspired to look again at mine and plan more climbers by the neighbouring fence.

Looking around my eye was caught with more plants which bloom time and again almost unnoticed

^ the easpalier apple survived the upheaval of the new fence being erected. The workmen were so considerate, they even  moved a fence post " an inch to your left, left a bit" were the comments I heard. There will be apple pie when the next job needs doing!  image

A relaxed evening of watering the plants is in order - restores the spirit.

    Enjoy the weekend image

Lovely photos BizzieB.  Some of the heucheras make huge plants do they not?  And so easy to split them up for more.  That is a splendid sweet pea.  I hope it is scented too.  We are going to have a day similar to today which was fine and dry and 19degrees, tomorrow, but much warmer on Sunday.

Bizzie B, is there custard going with that apple pie image?, your sweet peas look just as good as mine, it's the first time I've grown them with Marion's guidance, you keep up the good work and let me know when the pie is ready image

Yes I am so have switched to basic editor for now. may be we will have to wait till Monday to be able to post pictures again. Cloudy in Bristol this morning . Do hope it does not rain as I am going to "Music in the Park" in a Clifton Mall this afternoon then on to visit my friend who had his op yesterday. He said he would let me know if he did not feel up to a visit . As he had a general anaesthetic he is probably still asleep. I know I was the day after I had my plastic surgery on my elbow. Joe Swift was helping out in a Bristol street in the Bristol in Bloom competition on GW last night. So pretty. I do hope all the entrants have been growing bee and butterfly friendly plants for Bristol's Year as Green Capital of Europe.

It's cloudy in the NW too, I do hope it cheers up for you, is it a brass band your watching?. Hope your friend gets well soon, what happened to your elbow if you don't mind me asking?

The music is from Senegal Flumpy so quite new to me - very interesting to see what instruments are used. Just before my eightieth birthday I found I could no longer do simple things with my left hand fingers like tying my shoelaces, cutting my right fingernails etc because the small finger and the one next to it could open but not close - i had to use my other hand to close them. The receptionist at the doctor's sent me to A&E wher the nurse showed me which nerve was not responding and sent me to another hospital which does plastic surgery. Within six weeks i was in day surgery having plastic surgery on my elbow. When i woke up the surgeon told me with a very satisfied smile that she had found the aberrant muscle and moved it to where it should be and they thought i must have been born with it but it only caused bother when I got elderly for some reason they could not fathom. anyway it was a great success, Nearly 87 now and no trouble there and the day after my op I was in the cinema in the afternoon with my sons seeing the latest film I wanted to see., sporting my hospital sling to keep my elbow from being jostled. I felt a bit like Indiana Jones whom I had gone to see - and he married his Marion in that film!

I've only taken enough time to admire everyone's lovely photos so haven't read the chit chat yet.  Will catch up when I can get a private moment.

We're enjoying on visitors, but feel that I can't ignore conversations to have time to read and respond.

lovely to see the threads. imageimage
