You too , flowers in the rain. It is beautiful out in the garden this morning. Wall to wall blue skies and bright sunshine. 10 "White Dream " tulips have been planted in a black pot and the Bramleys that have fallen picked up. In for coffee now and then plan on digging up two deutzias and an azalea and transferring them to the new perfume garden. I have put the box of red tulips on the kitchen table to do if I have any energy left (and daylight) after doing that. None of the shrubs are large enough for it to be a two man or woman job as I have no intention of jeopardising my back. I may take my camera out if the brightness dulls a bit. Lots of new rosebuds have appeared - three on my "William Shakespeare"., perhaps it is his sign that he approves of "Cardenio".
It's always such a pleasant read when I catch up on here
We drove past your house this afternoon and it made me remember that I need to come visit the cold I had turned into the most awful cough I've ever had and really knocked me for six Pretty much working from dawn til dusk now so it would have to be a weekend otherwise it would be too dark to see your garden in all its glory! I shall message you later tonight or tomorrow
Marion what lovely photos, they look like they are out of a magazine , those apples look gorgeous too , we went to the garden centre and got a tray of winter flowering plants, I will send pictures when I can sort my phone out , hope you have a nice day tomorrow, the weather forecast looks good
Wow Marion, great photos as always.Good year for apples and pears our trees are loaded too. Can I ask - what is the last photo of.....its lovely, and the 10th one( pink with feathery leaves) I have some of that and have wondered what it is called !
The last one is oxalis, flowers in the rain, common name is lucky plant - easy to see why. It has a pretty pink flower but flowering over for this year i think. Does well both in the garden and in a pot. Some people grow it as a house plant. The pink with feathery leaves is cosmos - an annual that has been flowering its socks off for months. This one is a trial called Hummingbird Pink for Mr. Fothergill's Seeds. It is shorter than most cosmos so does not need staking. I can thoroughly recommend it. It is a good doer and very pretty with an inner ring of folded petals so semi double.
