Garden was too wet by the time the dry weather came in the afternoon to go on the soil so did some Xmas shopping online instead. With seven children, seven grandchildren and lots of friends Xmas is a busy time for me so it is wise to spread it out. I did manage to put out the green wheeliebin to be emptied tomorrow morning as it was full.
Your hills in the distance remind me of the Ochils I looked out on from my childhood home, Pat, in Scotland. My Clematis montana still has a few flowers on from its second flush of flowers. It i so mild today in Bristol it feels like summer too. Forecast is for a very mild weekend and drier too. Right now the garden looks very wet and it is a bit breezy.
Morning Marion, I've only been twice to Scotland but both visits are fondly etched in my 'memory store box'.
1st was to the Edinburgh Festival......brilliant.
2nd was when we drove all the way up there in a very old mini (not really knowing if it would make it...but it also managed the return too!). We stayed a few days with friends in Sterling before we all went camping along the banks of Loch Tay (sorry not too sure of the spelling), stunning scenery.
Bit soggy under foot here but it is set to dry and brightenup.
Born and bred in Alloa. Snow - six miles from Stirling. Arrived in Bristol the weekend of the Queen's Coronation (1953) via St. Andrews and Pittsburgh Universities, Hull for first job and then to Bristol for next one. I still have a broad Scots accent though especially on the telephone people tell me. Glad you enjoyed your trips to Scotland. I used to love Edinburgh - shopping as a teenager with the money from my school holiday jobs! I always went to see the Floral Clock in Princes Street.
We've got rain predicted. But have waited all day and no sign of any yet, maybe overnight. I'm glad our hills remind you, Marion. It's good to have those precious memories. I'm nearly ready for bed - it's been a long day.
