Was glad it was an hour as I got it into my head that it was only half an hour long. I did think the portugese garden would have some red hot pokers in it, as I know they are ok in clay as I've got them growing in this. Looking forward to tonights episode.
I like bekkie was chatting to a friend and got distracted Ended up watching at midnight in bed via I player!
i liked it even though the garden styles weren't my cup of tea. I agree the veggie one looked a bit like a bare garden centre! Not sure where the 8k cost come from??? They must have paid for a lot of help! I think they cut too much back, I preferred it before
As for the other one I think the lady was more interested in impressing Monty than she was in looking at how hard her son and daughter in law had worked and spent to make the garden perfect for her. Got a feeling she paid for it!
anyway best bit was the ladies lusting over Monty when he was cutting back the bushes, made me chuckle and yes maybe day dream
That is the beauty of TV sets Berghill they have on off switches, the rubbish and repeats they put on all channels these days is not for me. I have on order kindle so I can read or do brain games when the rubbish is on, but then that is me, many do enjoy the programmes I hate and why not, we can all do as we wish in our own homes, how do you know I am not typing this in the naked state???
There are four Monty gardens and I will watch them all and enjoy totally normal to me possibly weird to others so Vive le difference.
I enjoyed it and thought Monty elevated the show from the usual 'in and out in a day' makeover type programmes.
How many similar shows would have just planted the £600 palm tree in the clay and not worried that it would have died back a few weeks after the cameras had gone? Monty at least put a lot of effort (his own!) into improving drainage etc to give the plant a better chance of survival.
My only criticism was that the 'smallholding' garden didn't seem like it made the most out of the space it had - lots of empty space where bigger or more raised beds could have been. I appreciate it's a balance and they obviously didn't just want to turn their garden into an allotment but I felt it could have been built to be more productive than it looks like it will be.
I also watched Montys new prog,i do feel its all been done before sort of thing, but I do find the Beechgrove program has some good ideas, they often test different ways of gardening IE:using weed killers or black plastic etc with the results given at the end of the test, one was they tried and tested purchased fertilizers and Comfrey, later in the year the results showed Comfrey was best, this type of program i find more interesting than the makeovers and the bit that's almost always there "we might not have enough time before they get back" that sort of thing makes me feel a bit insulted as if I would believe such ensconce, But any gardening prog is far better than all that Bl---- Football,Good luck Monty
Insulted Alan, who among us has not been hit by the weather, late delivery, people not doing what they say they will, I have been in much safer minefields when it comes to planning gardens. A wedding coming up plenty of time we will have the garden made over for some photo's, then it happened, I am on top of a hill never flood but it did and ended up with a mass of plants in pots and me in my father of the bride suit having to be dragged off to the car, wife not happy with muddy shoes. It happens Alan and those people last night suffered some bad weather too, no such thing as a fast track garden make over, plan at least two years before the event but we do not do we.
I am with you on the football, Sunderland losing 8-0 though at least the Boro won, for once. I gave up a long time ago.

Got dreadfully bored with it after 20 minutes and turned off and read a book instead.
I agree with you tootles I like watching all gardening programs you never know what you might learn and what ideas you may get for your own garden.
