  • I've got about 30 seeds on the go in my unheated greenhouse. outside here are 7-9 at the moment, is that warm enough or should put them in my heated propagator? I'm hoping for flowers late August. Thank you in advance.

  • Could I just ask that if anyone has any queries they think I may be able to help with, would they please raise those queries here on the forum and not in personal messages.

I presume this is for me and I further presume that '7-9' refers to centigrade temperatures.

In both instances, I would say they will be fine outside and would not be helped in any way by being put in a propagator.

My guess would be that they would flower well before late August.

  • Correct in both counts. Many thanks for the advice.
  • Just popped in to say that soil conditions here in the Midlands are now ideal for planting out those autumn sown sweet peas.

David, you must be psychic I was just about to ask the question.  I prepared the tubs and wigwams a couple of days ago.  Thanks for the advice I'll go and plant them this afternoon.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Good luck with them, Yvie.....and a little forecasted  rain on Sunday will settle them in nicely.
