    Hi Bizzie

Thank you for posting today and when I'm off shift next I will def look at the places you suggest, it would be nice if we could all go on a garden visit together a bit more south of the border image

Shame you couldn't get pics as sounds lovely what you saw despite the sunshine and showers

Dont ask me how I know this but I think the flower is a potato climbing flower! Google in images and see what you think, where that came from I don't even know image

Was good tonight and watered my new border in the dark time I got home! Can't wait to show you as you really inspired me to move stuff, image

Lily I have jug and table cloth envy.  Its really lovely.  I'm still thinking about painting the chairs, Ive had an Annie Sloan paint chart come today.  I know its expensive but the web site claims you hardly need do any prep and that sounds good to me.  Has anyone else used her paint.

You didn't say you was impressed with me knowing Bekkie image

Yviestevie I have painted everything withAnnie Sloan and it is so so easy, I'm particularly bad as I don't do any prep at all, only wash it down image I've done most of mine by doing two coats one of each colour then OH lightly sands edges and bits cos I'm bored by then lol and he does it really good I say image Making it look very shabby and then we always wax with the Annie Sloan wax and then its quite solid and even waterproof image In the local shop to me the lady does large test pots of all the colours for about seven pounds a pot so maybe someone will do that local to you? If not let me know what colours you would like and I can always get for you no problem

image Thank you Beaus for the flower id - checked with 'potatoes' and there it was!

Will post on here any developments re my tablet, it seems the andriod security wont allow the messages to open. Who's in charge here? Shades of 1984!

    bekkie,

    spot on thanks

image it is very pretty, there are several more peeking through too. How it came to be there no idea. It's grown to be a tight corner of Rosa rugosa plants and holly, knew the honeysuckle would grow through eventually. For a moment there I thought it was a rare plant!

Yveistevie I am in the process of cleaning  my garden chairs  using the method obelix used, one more to go. They look very good so not sure wether to paint or to varnish to let the wood grain show, it's old woodish faded grey looking (photos to come Beaus) which would suit my garden better image

I think you said yours were for indoors, so a colour would look good.

stargazelily, your jug is a beautiful shape and colour, will you use it for fowers?

Well done with the chair cleaning.  If you like the wood grain why not do a sort of colour wash or liming wax rub to show up the grain?  Leave to dry a few days while you consider the results  then rub down gently and varnish to protect it or else change your mind and paint them.    Either way the wood will have been treated and fed and will be all the better lasting.

Hi Bizzie sounds like you're doing a proper job on your chairs, you're not a lazy daisy like me image I think what obelixx has suggested would look really nice image

Hope so, Beaus. I've browsed the posts again and see the you are going to give a 'peeled' look to your chairs, should look good. Did you decide on a colour?

There is so much going on on this thread and one or two  others I'm following - all interesting image

A nice idea for a group visit to gardens, perhaps some ideas can be suggested sometime.
