I dont know how much space you have or where your house is in relation to the shed but these thoughts were entirely random, so probably not very practical
my first thought was can you turn the shed around so that it is side on to your fence then you could have large pots with trees to screen the view
Or fix trellis to the back of the shed for a screen and grow clematis montana (quick growing, abundane of flowers) in a pot training it up the side of the shed onto the trellis (mine did well with lots of watering and feed) next go the bbq
is the bbq moved out when you use it ? could it be stored in the shed to give more space when not used
you say it is your fence, you could fix a trellis along the top and down your side, maybe a narrow one because not sure of fence height restrictions, then train clematis or ivy up and along it
I'm thinking that things on the shed roof would draw attention to the extention
Hope some of that is helpful, I'm sure others will have ideas too.
Finally I'm off shift and able to catch up with you all
Thank you for kind comments re my border and although I'm home too late to do anything in the garden whilst working I have managed to keep the new border watered Hope to plant the evergreen honeysuckles today and couple other plants I have in pots that hopefully will go good along there too in my quest to cover the shed
good morning, a bright day day here so after browsing inspirational threads will now go and get down to the nitty-gritty of more pruning and moving pots about.
Yvie, your hall floor looks good, worth the hard work. Is everyone taking off their shoes now?
Hi, yes, particularly at the height of summer. I'm sure I said that the blooms succumb to rain, turn soggy. However, it has abundant blooms and I'm just waiting for a second flush, smaller but so pretty. You wont be disappointed
Bizzie B thanks for the ideas. Turning the shed round so that I could grow up and across would help but I cant get Hubby to agree to move the shed, it would also cause a bit of a problem because the rain water butt taking water from the conservatory roof would be in the way. I can see the extension if I sit on the end of the sofa in the conservatory right by the window. You cant see it from anywhere else. He has planted a tree in front of the extension in his garden which looks quite nice. However, he has chosen a twisted willow which will grow quite big and actually sits near to the water mains (Im awaiting that problem with baited breath). He is a lovely neighbour in all other respects but really has no idea when it comes to design or gardening. (Hes planted a Scotts Pine right next to the fence halfway up the garden and a Cedara Deodora next to his bay window on the front of the house. I'm just hoping that if he does sell his house someone will realise the problems that these trees could cause and remove them.
Is there room behind the BBQ to put a big pot and then plant a lovely rambling rose in it, when Chelsea was on one of the lady presenters said about a couple that were beauty's and did really well in big pots for years
Also would you consider or even like to paint your shed maybe a heritage green or blue? Think that would look nicer with the neighbours wood wall behind and then maybe work with it rather than against it?
maybe plants some ferns in pots in front of your shed too?
Just some thoughts, I'll be back later to see what you think x

Hi Yviestevie, just on a tea break and been thinking bout your problem whilst I have been busy in the garden
Couple of questions
